Spinomad hostel: luxury in Chiang Rai
/Looking to stay in Spinomad hostel in Chiang Rai? Here’s our review!
After spending 2 months staying only in hotels, we were looking for a change of pace that would allow us to mingle with other likeminded travelers. However, we were not ready to stay in the most basic of conditions as we get pretty exhausted from all the bus rides, tuk tuks, boats, and miles of walking that we accrue. Overall, we wanted to find a place that would make us feel comfortable, welcomed, and most of still feel somewhat private.
So we found a solution – Spinomad luxury hostel! We figured we couldn’t go wrong with that combination and we couldn’t have been more right.
A step into the hostel feels like it could be a coffee shop or a café – the space is artistic with beautiful interior design. Modern color palettes, warm lighting, designer furniture, and flowers couldn’t have made a better first impression.
The staff were incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. After check-in (which was absolutely fast) we were escorted up to our mixed dorm room on the second floor. We each got a cotton handbag with 2 towels and a bottle of water inside. Aside from the dorm choice we selected, Spinomad has other accommodation options such as a Twin Room, Deluxe Double Room and 6-bed female Dorm.
There were 6 beds in the room with reading lights and plugs next to each bed, individual lockers, clothing rack, and air conditioning. The beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable and we could see that the linens were new, which you don’t always see while traveling.
Besides getting an ordinary room, you can opt for a tepee with a comfortable mattress inside. Not something you can get in every other hostel, right?
To get from the common area into your room, you need to use a magnetic key card. The hostel closes after 10 pm, so at night you also use a keycard to get inside. With all that, we felt very safe.
The bathrooms were clean, the showers were very convenient as they had a lot of hooks to hang your stuff and a metal shelf inside the shower to put your toiletries. Inna really appreciated all these necessary details which a lot of hostels don’t have. Another nice feature was a hairdryer placed comfortable on the wall.
Another benefit is that Spinomad hostel is also a laundry cafe with self-service. Of course, you can use it even if you are not staying in Spinomad and we found this laundry to be the most modern, easy to use and centrally located in the city.

The breakfast had quite a spread with eggs, cold meat cuts, fresh veggies, salad leaves, fresh fruit and delicious coffee. Besides that, complimentary drinks are located in the common area at all times.
Besides that, Spinomad has a comfy outside area where you can enjoy your coffee, get some work done or mingle with other travelers.
As we continue our year of traveling, we want to thank Spinomad hostel for the level of comfort they provide for travelers.
We could see that the staff and management put a lot of thought into their hostel to ensure that guests have the best experience.
